For more than a century, Wilmingtonians have enjoyed the accessible, pastoral beauty of urban parks, thanks to resourceful city planners, talented landscape architects, and philanthropic residents of Wilmington, Delaware.

Today, the Friends of Wilmington Parks works closely with the Delaware Division of Parks & Recreation and the City of Wilmington in a cooperative spirit to assess and render the needs of the parks, including horticultural and restorative projects.

The Friends' park renovation projects are funded through grants, membership, and tax-deductible donations.   The Friends also organize events during the year to raise funds to continue their work in the Wilmington State Parks.

After reading more about the parks, their history, and Friends' events, we hope you will decide to become a part of the renaissance.   For more information, refer to our 2008-2009 Annual Report.
