Hands Across the Brandywine

On Tuesday, May 19, 2009, hundreds of school children participated in "Hands Across the Brandywine", a yearly environmental awareness event organized by Friends of Wilmington Parks.

This was the 17th consecutive year for the event. More than 700 students and chaperones from Warner Elementary and Highlands Elementary schools participated in activities in Brandywine Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The hands-on activities included "Butterflies Along the Brandywine", "The Power of Water", "Name That Tree Hike" and "Wiggle Worms".
