Maples Out!!

Over the past several years, over 15,000 non-native, invasive, Norway maple seedlings and saplings have been pulled from Brandywine Park.
Removal of these invasive plants provides room for native seedlings to sprout and thrive.
Charles Newlon, Duane Green and Daniel Kucera,
all retired US Forest Service foresters, and Environmental Educator
Deloris Donnelly oversee the pulling of the trees.

Among those we would like to thank for their volunteer services:

Ferris School for Boys
Wilmington Friends School
Newark YMCA—Western Branch, “Leaders in Training” Program
4-H Camp, University of Delaware
